(Senior) Research Associate/ Scientist, Cellular Immunology

RedRidge Bio is an emerging biotechnological company within the Ridgeline Discovery incubator, based in Basel, Switzerland. Well-funded, built on over two decades of foundational research and validated by external alliances with academics and pharma, we are dedicated to developing transformative therapies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a hands-on, collaborative, and motivated Research Associate or Scientist to join our Immunology Team. This is a lab-focused role, ideally suited for someone with a strong foundation in immunological research and a passion for translating science into impactful therapies.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with the team in the conception and execution of experiments aimed at exploring immunology mechanisms and testing hypotheses
  • Contributing to the design and execution of the flow chart in vitro and in vivo assays that allow the identification of lead candidates, and ultimate selection of the development drug candidate for assigned programs
  • More specifically, conduction of:
    • Hands-on immune cell work including primary immune cell isolation, characterization and evaluation in functional assays
    • Experience with primary myeloid cells is required
    • Flow cytometry
    • Additional techniques/assays (Transductions, Reporter assay, ELISA, MSD, Incucyte)
    • Routine lab management duties
    • Experimental planning and design, troubleshooting, independent data analysis, interpretation, documentation and presentation
  • Keeping up with scientific literature pertinent to the projects and in general with literature relevant to scientific developments in immunology and in particular in autoimmune diseases

QUALIFICATIONS

  • M.Sc. with 3+ years work experience or a PhD in immunology
  • Proven track record in immunology research
  • Work experience in biotech or pharmaceutical setting will be a plus
  • Solid background on cellular immunology
  • Expertise in cell culture of cell lines and primary immune cells, multicolor flow cytometry is required
  • Hands on immunological assays – activation, proliferation, differentiation, cytokine analysis, apoptosis
  • Experience in modulating immune cell behaviour using biologics (e.g., antibodies, cytokines).
  • Experience in in vitro handling and functional evaluation of myeloid cells
  • Ability to work independently and to participate in cross-functional teams, meet deadlines, and organize and prioritize work
  • Self-organizer, keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate across a variety of audiences including team members and cross-functional project teams
