Senior Manager / Associate Director, Finance and Project Management

RedRidge Bio is an emerging biotechnological company within the Ridgeline Discovery incubator, based in Basel, Switzerland. Well-funded, built on over two decades of foundational research and validated by external alliances with academics and pharma, we are dedicated to developing transformative therapies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases. As a dynamic and growing organization, we are seeking an experienced corporate finance professional with a strong background in accounting and controlling, and an eagerness to expand into project management and drive synergies across these two functions.


As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for all finance-related matters in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Leveraging your corporate finance expertise, you will support the organizational development of RedRidge and develop creative, implementable solutions for complex challenges. You will collaborate closely with scientific teams, aligning corporate finance goals with project management initiatives to ensure efficient governance and smooth operations. With empathy, strong communication skills and natural assertiveness, you will promote trust and implement decisions clearly and in a team-oriented manner.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Finance & Controlling
  • Oversee all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting, including cash flow monitoring, accounts payable, and vendor relationships.
  • Lead budget planning, financial forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Manage tax-related matters (e.g., VAT, income tax, stamp tax) in collaboration with tax advisors.
  • Manage cap table and employee equity plans (SOP, SIP).
  • Administer finance and treasury operations, including working capital management and hedging strategies.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders (tax advisors, auditors, legal counsel) and internal teams, serve as central point of contact for finance questions.
Financial Reporting & Systems Management
  • Lead change management and administer financial systems (e.g., NetSuite).
  • Prepare and manage regular reporting and financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss reports, by department and project.
  • Ensure compliance with Swiss GAAP (ideally also US GAAP) in all financial reporting, including quarterly and annual reports.
  • Monitor KPIs, track performance, and create data visualizations (e.g., Power BI).
  • Oversee purchase order management, expense reporting, and time tracking.
  • Collaborate with leadership to provide insights based on financial data and analytical findings.
Project Management & Governance
  • Provide financial oversight on project management activities.
  • Develop and manage therapeutic program templates, including project plans and dashboards.
  • Assist project teams in coordinating internal and external meetings, including agenda preparation and meeting minutes.
  • Support internal governance committee planning and lead the presentation of financial data (e.g., FTE/budget figures, scenario planning).
  • Support development of organizational project management capabilities, serving as the central point of contact for project teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification (Swiss GAAP, ideally also US GAAP).
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in corporate finance, accounting, and controlling.
  • Proven experience in NetSuite or similar financial systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on cash flow optimization and asset management.
  • Experience in the life sciences industry is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities with the ability to align finance and project operations effectively.
