GRANITE BIO is seeking a Biomarker expert.
GRANITE BIO is a recently established biotechnology company within the Ridgeline Discovery incubator (www.ridgelinediscovery.com) located in Basel (Switzerland). Based on fundamental research conducted over the last two decades, GRANITE BIO’s is pursuing a differentiated approach impacting central disease biology nodes to transform inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic conditions.
The Biomarker expert will support all areas of biomarker related (for example assay development, validation, clinical biomarker vendor oversight, responsibility for tracking, analysis and storage of clinical biomarker samples)
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with a positive “can do” attitude, attention to details and innovation, strong organizational and communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with colleagues for the implementation of biomarkers in pre-clinical validation and clinical studies to meet program goals through a translational understanding of the disease state and treatment modalities.
- Manage aspects of biomarker sample collection and processing.
- Track and trigger analyses of biomarker in clinical samples and data transfers according to established timelines.
- Resolve biomarker sample related questions from sites, CROs, clinical operations with cross-functional team input (e.g. stability, sample usage, storage, duration).
- Responsible for long term storage and destruction of biomarker samples from clinical or exploratory studies.
- File expected biomarker documents in sponsor Trial Master File (TMF).
- Review clinical trial study documents including vendor oversight, Action Risks logs.
- Review sections of clinical study protocol, biomarker strategy documents and biomarker reports with supervision.
- Pro-active CRO/CDO relationship management with a focus on seamless execution of biomarker logistics, analyses, sample reconciliations and related data transfers.
- Contribute, as needed, to other Granite Bio Business-relevant areas.
WHO YOU ARE
- You are a BS in Biology or related field with 2 or more years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- You have knowledge and understanding of general scientific principles as applied to biomarker research, development and implementation
- You have knowledge of Good Clinical Practices / Good laboratory Practices and clinical study design
- You are a talented, pro-active and passionate biomarker professional, inspired by our shared vision to bring innovation to patients with unmet medical needs.
- You are eager to work within a dynamic and fit-for-purpose Biotech environment.
- You understand the framework and complexities of early clinical multi-center trials and can deal with various CRO/CDO-related ways of working.
- You have experience in autoimmune and/or fibrosis disease space
- You are an effective communicator that shares information transparently and strategically.
- You are a team player and an active listener.
- You thrive in environments of ambiguity and collaboration where authority is distributed between all of the people involved and where advice seeking is foundational.
- You apply your organizing and problem-solving skills to plan and run efficient operational and enabling aspects of biomarker programs, studies, and/or enabling projects.
