Ridgeline Discovery, a Versant Ventures Discovery Engine, creates and operates Versant-financed innovative biotech companies in partnership with entrepreneurs, industry, and leading academics across Europe. In recent years, Ridgeline has assembled an international team of >50 highly experienced drug discovery and industry professionals and built and operated multiple new successful companies; these companies have raised significant funds through Series B, IPO and an exit through a trade sale.
To strengthen our HR team and act as a key point of contact for our COO, we are looking for an engaged and proactive individual to join us as a maternity cover for approximately 12 months. In this role, you will take on a central position in our daily operations and support processes. With your commitment, reliability, and hands-on mindset, you will make an important contribution to employee satisfaction and the smooth functioning of our organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Assistant
- Support the HR team in all administrative matters
- After an onboarding phase, independently manage personnel administration, including employee entries and exits, maintenance of personnel files and HR master data, work permits, social insurance matters, and accident, illness, and parental leave notifications
- Provide administrative support in recruitment, including job postings and interview coordination
- Support the onboarding of new employees by preparing employment documents, coordinating onboarding agendas, and organizing software and hardware in collaboration with the IT Manager
- Assist with employee offboarding, including the preparation of employment confirmations and reference letters
- Maintain HR-related spreadsheets and overviews such as recruitment tracking and organizational charts
- Process HR-related invoices and handle general HR correspondence
Executive & Administrative Support
- Provide executive and administrative support to the COO and leadership team, including calendar management, travel arrangements, expense reporting, and correspondence
- Act as a point of contact for external stakeholders, including investors, partners, and visitors
- Organize meetings and company events, including agenda preparation, materials, and follow-ups
- Support document management, contracting processes, and administrative workflows
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completed commercial apprenticeship (EFZ), ideally complemented by further training as an HR Assistant (Sachbearbeiter:in HR)
- First practical experience in HR administration and in Switzerland is of advantage
- Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
- Confident user of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Structured, precise, and reliable working style with strong attention to detail
- Ability to take responsibility and work independently
- High level of discretion, confidentiality, and reliability
- Willingness to learn and contribute in a dynamic, international environment
